Senior’s Holiday Tea/Concert Rehearsal
It has officially become a tradition. During the Seniors Tea at the upstairs level of our building on December 10th 2025, Montessori Casa children will have a dress rehearsal for our holiday concert and also support our local community of elders.
There have been many studies on intergenerational learning for both seniors and children. If your children have grandparents at home or close by, you can affirm to have witnessed a harmonious union. Children understand the importance of elders and these interactions have a calming effect on most children. Our young children will bring energy with them that can be infectious and make a tremendous impact for some elders who may not have family or anything else planned for the holidays. We feel honoured to offer some excitement and give them some joy.
At 2:45 pm we will head upstairs and sing for 10-15 minutes and head back downstairs around 3:10 pm.
Casa Parent/Teacher discussions from November 10th – November 14th 2025.
Emails will be sent out for sign-up on preferred dates and times with Ms. Stewart and Ms. Malfatti.
Casa children will be given poppies to wear.
We will gather to read books about Remembrance Day, and discuss the gratitude we have to live in a place where freedom and peace are possible.
We will have a moment of silence at 11:00 am.
Please join us as we dive into a deep discussion about Self-discipline and how we can guide our children to develop and maintain self-regulation, positive habits and build a strong character for life.
Ms. Stewart and Ms. Malfatti are delighted to begin our morning with a presentation followed by an open discussion.
Please note at least one parent’s attendance is requested. As our partners in supporting your child’s development your participation is strongly encouraged and valuable.
The Casa children are going on a trip to Brown Farms on Friday October 3rd, 2025 at 10:00 am.
The bus will be leaving Montessori Casa at 9:30 am sharp and will return at 12:30 pm.

In keeping with the guidelines of our AMI Montessori approach we wanted to ensure the children do not come to school in any costumes. Children and staff are invited to dress in orange and black.
Halloween can be uncomfortable and scary for children under the age of six. As educators we want to ensure we are doing all we can to meet the developmental needs of our children. Although we are able to distinguish the difference between reality and fantasy, this is almost impossible for young children under age six.
During the week we will be carving pumpkins, roasting seeds, baking and reading books about the beautiful season of autumn.
On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we invite the children to wear orange to school as a way of honoring the children who were taken from their families and placed in the residential school system. This day is a time to recognize their experiences, the hardships they endured, and the strength of survivors, families, and communities. Together, we pause to reflect, learn, and carry forward the importance of truth, healing, and reconciliation.
TERRY FOX RUN
On Monday September 15th, 2025 we plan to participate in the Terry Fox Run! We will gather to read a book about Terry Fox, have some discussions and share the relevance Terry Fox has had on our lives today. We plan to begin our run around the track at 11:00 am.
Please ensure your children come to school in comfortable clothing and shoes to be able to participate and enjoy the experience.
